Stephen Nedoroscik became an internet sensation during the 2024 Paris Olympics after winning a bronze medal on the pommel horse and helping the U.S. men’s gymnastics team win a bronze medal in the team final.
Now, he could become a TV sensation.
Nedoroscik, known as the “pommel horse guy,” appeared on “Good Morning America” on Thursday to announce that he will compete in the 33rd season of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Nedoroscik was the first celebrity to be confirmed as a contestant for the 33rd season of the show.
“I want to bring some of that gymnastics, maybe a backflip or handstand,” Nedoroscik said on the show Thursday. “I want to have fun with it.”
Nedoroscik went viral with social media posts comparing him to a real-life Clark Kent because of his glasses and another showing him appearing to be asleep at the Paris Games.
On “Good Morning America” Nedoroscik explained that his resting at the Olympics kept him calm before competing.
“It’s kind of what I do just to calm myself down, so I will probably be bringing that to the dance floor,” he said on the show Thursday.
The next season of “Dancing with the Stars” is scheduled to start on Sept. 17 and will air on ABC and Disney+.
